Violon (Violin)

Ara Simonian was born in Leninakan. Ara started to study the violin at the age of eight with Matilda Epremian. After terrible earthquake in 1988 Ara with his family moved to live in Moscow. In 1989 he entered into the Musical College under Moscow Conservatory,studied with Natalia Boyarskaya and Marina Keselman. In 1993, he continued to study in Moscow conservatory with famous Zarius Shikhmurzaeva, and completing his studies with the highest Diploma with distinction,red diploma.

Ara is laureate of competitions,such as the Shostakovish Competition in S.Petersburg , the Tenuto Contest in Belgium, Aslamazian competition in Erevan,quartet competition in Gent.
Ara Simonian has performed several times as a soloist for Royal Family in Belgium.

In 1999 Ara moved to live in Belgium.

In Belgium he has performed extensively with the country’s leading orchestras, such as, La Monnaie Orchestra ,Koninkljike Fhilharmonie van Vlaanderen, Vlaamse Opera, Ifiamingi,Ilnovecento ,conzertmeister in Zomeroera orchestra,Brussels Philharmonic. He has worked with eminent conductors such as V.Gergiev, W.Weller,N.Alexeev,V.Fedoseev,Y.Temirkanov etc and toured all over the world.
Ara played in some of the most important concert halls in the world: Berlin Philharmonie, Concergebow, Hamburg Musikhalle, Dusseldorfer Tonhale,Grand Hall in Moscow etc.
He joined National Orchestra of Belgium in 2008.
